Recurring DIY Headboard Obsession

The bed in our guest bedroom is sans headboard and for months I've been meaning to construct one myself. Out of what material? I'm undecided, but my brain wheels are turning. I noticed Apartment Therapy posted a link about DIY headboards today so I thought I would post for future reference.

I really like the idea of using salvaged doors or shutters.

Glimpse into the Past

It was bittersweet spending time at my Grandma's house for the last time.

The house at which I practically spent every Christmas for the last 31 years.

We found some old photos of my Grandparents that I scanned.

It turns out my Grandpa was quite the photographer.

....I discovered this photo I took with my phone of the bowling pins hanging from the ceiling at Grand Finale, the ultimate brunch spot for indulging in some bread pudding with hard sauce.....Yum!!!

Maybe I was saving this photo for future decorating inspiration?

Not sure.
