Goldilocks

Is it weird that I kinda like this dress?

Yes....there are bears on the dress....they appear to be dancing?

It's currently listed on ebay and I'm considering bidding.....

Chris may not let me leave the house in it.....

....Something to think about.

Update!

I've changed my mind....I might like this season's "Real World"....especially the blond haired nerdy guy! Hah!

Also....I REALLY want to see the movie "Wolfman"

I Like Wine

Right now I am drinking "Natura Chardonnay". It's organic and I like it. I found it in the part of Kroger that is separate from normal Kroger...you know....where all the Hippies go. I went there looking for tofu. Ultra firm tofu, because I've found a new fascination with tofu and it's healthy...supposedly.

I'm also watching Real World, but I'm not REALLY watching it because it is not good anymore ever since they started making it about sex and hooking up and drama. What happened to the Real World with Rachel? with Julie? with Puck? with Judd? with Erik?...you know, that guy that was on "MTV Work-out Jams" or whatever it was called....what happened to that Real World? I'm talking 1996 Real World! Come Back!

It will never come back.

Because now I'm 30!

I'm not 16.

Humph!

In another life, I was a hippie.

Vintage Lace

When I was planning my wedding, I became OBSESSED with vintage lace. It made me think how neat it would be to use vintage lace in hair accessories, necklaces, bracelets etc...so I was super pumped to see these from a store called White Owl on etsy!

Teen Extraordinaire

Just spent the past hour skimming over a blog called Style Rookie. It's the style blog of 13 year old Tavi Gevinson who has been known to skip school to sit front row in New York fashion week and she has also been published in Harper's Bazaar. She describes her self like this:

"Tiny 13 year old dork that wears awkward jackets and pretty hats all the live long day. Scatters black petals on Rei Kawakubo's doorsteps and serenades her in rap. Nowhere near 4 million readers but probably the same amount of clothes in my closet that I should probably clean out soon. Cynical and cute as a drained rat. In a sewer. Farting. And spitting out guts."

This completely fascinates me.

She's 13!

Apparently she has also been the inspiration behind Rodarte for Target.

Avoidance....then acceptance...

I've been avoiding the whole Twilight craze and I finally gave in after I received all 4 books of the series over Christmas. I've read the 1st two books in about 5 days and I AM HOOKED! I decided I needed to see the 1st movie right away so I quickly flipped through Movies on Demand, but sadly it was not listed. I then proceeded to desperately searched Netflix to see if it was available for instant viewing....it wasn't. As a last resort I decided it was time to wipe the dust of my Blockbuster card and make the 2 minute drive down the street to rent the first Twilight movie. Sadly, Blockbuster is not open at 10am on Sunday mornings. Hmmmm.....is it worth it? Yes it is! I went home and waited 2 hours until the doors opened, drove back to Blockbuster and finally, my needs were met. I had my movie!

Oh the shame!

Next up..... New Moon....maybe this weekend?

Bella and Edward await!

Last Christmas in Chicago

Mom and her "Martha Stuart Style Prime Rib".....which was excellent! Horseradish mashed potatoes and green bean casserole were nice compliments!

Girlfriend Appreciation Holiday Dinner

Went to Slims in Northside a few weeks ago and I would HIGHLY recommend it. If you're in the mood for a "leisure dinner" this is the place for you! If you have have people to see and places to be, maybe reschedule your Slims dinner for another night. It takes a good 2+ hours to get through all of the courses, but the casual, family style dining and the fresh, seasonal, locally grown menu is definitely worth it! VERY laid back and Non-pretentious, which I LOVE! Not to mention it is BYOB so that's a plus!

Christmas Vow

I vow that next Christmas our empty mantel will have stockings.....something like this.

Because I'm obsessed with burlap and lace. Maybe I should have titled my blog Burlap and Lace....hmmmm.

This year our fireplace is naked.....well except for some evergreen garland.

Homeless Wildlife?

We have a neighbor who religiously feeds the various Clifton wildlife at certain times during the day. He also calls them by name "Blue" and "Burt"are the ones we have made out so far...

Today I found some forgotten rolls leftover from Thanksgiving in the breadbox and needless to say I was a little worried when my husband proceeded to take them out to our sun-room, open the window and yell "Caw-Caw" while tossing the rolls out to the forest below. He said instead of tossing them in the garbage, we should feed the "homeless wildlife".

I'm worried there may be something in the water....

Bon Appétit

So last night I watched the movie "Julie and Julia" with my Mom and was pleasantly surprised. Julie Child? Sure...I know who she is, but I've never held any certain kind of fascination with her as I have with other television icons (ah hem...Diane Sawyer). After watching the movie, I went into stalker mode and found myself wanting to know her story and research her history.....who was her husband? were did she live? how tall was she really? I must say...I AM intrigued.....

Also, I would like to mention I've discovered a fondness for Amy Adams...how cute is she?
